Expedition vehicle EX 345

Our latest EX345 4WD expedition vehicle is built around the new Iveco Daily 4x4 – featuring a modern common-rail diesel engine with a power output of 130 kW/176 HP and a torque of 400 Nm. It is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox and a transfer box with torque splitting and off-road reduction – 24 forward gears and 4 reverse gears turn it into an all-terrain vehicle. Standard centre differential and rear differential locks ensure traction even in the toughest conditions. The driver cabin with hydraulic suspension seats offers top-notch comfort.

Since the rugged bimobil cabin is kept narrow and low, the vehicle’s height and width are not unduly compromised despite the long-strut all-wheel drive suspensions. The vehicle therefore remains compact and agile.

The original frame has been stabilised with a sub-frame so that the travel cabin can be mounted onto the Iveco’s chassis. The cabin is mounted onto this sub-frame via six elastomer insulators.
The bimobil cabin is very rugged yet relatively light. The interior boasts bright spaces and top-class finishings

Layout:
Rear bed:
The large rear bed (95 x 200 cm) can sleep one person comfortably. Thanks to an easy-to-use pull-out mechanism, this single bed can be combined with the seating group to form a superb double-bed with a width of 175 cm. A unique feature of the pull-out mechanism is that it can be used without disturbing someone who is sleeping in the rear bed. This means that even if someone is already sleeping, another person can still use the seating group to read, etc. Both halves of this double-bed are fitted with a Froli spring system, underside ventilation and heating to ensure the highest level of sleeping comfort.
Underneath the fixed rear bed is a huge, full-vehicle-width storage hold that can be accessed from the outside via a big lift gate and a side flap.
Seating group:
The seating group is placed on a small platform in front of the rear berth. It features two comfortable benches and a table on a single column that provides maximum space for legs and feet. A smart feature is the glide mechanism that allows the table top to be slid in all directions. Located in the benches as well as in the platform under the seating group are fresh- and waste-water tanks along with a heater/boiler unit and a large capacity battery.
Lockers:
A hanging locker (58 cm wide and 55 cm deep) located between the seating group and the bathroom provides plenty of space. It contains a large drawer and a clothes rail (hanging height of 1.20 m). The locker’s lower section houses the electrical system.
Sanitary compartment:
With a surface area of 109 x 75 cm, the sanitary compartment offers ample space. A shower basin, protected by a Resopal-coated cover, a shower curtain, a stylish enamelled steel sink, high-quality fittings and a swivelling Thetford cassette toilet provide all modern comforts. Easy-to-clean cabinets with many shelves offer loads of storage space.
Driver cabin passage:
The passage to the driver cabin can be closed and locked with a door. Another hanging locker is located next to this door.

Kitchen:
The working surface features a Corean® work counter, a recessed double-burner cooker covered by a glass lid, and a stainless steel sink. Located below the work counter are two cutlery drawers, an extension plate and additional stowage space. The voluminous compressor fridge with a freezer compartment is also installed here. And last but not least, our trademark spice-rack that facilitates gourmet cooking on the road.
Hanging lockers:
Hanging lockers installed above the seating group, kitchen and rear berth provide additional stowage space. The textile bags near the rear bed and seating group offer further stowage options.
Stowage compartments:
Two exterior storage boxes with chequered steel-plate covers are located underneath the rear section of the cabin. These are slanted in order to maintain the vehicle's original angle of departure.

150-litre fresh-water tank with large service opening, filled from vehicle exterior, high-quality fittings for kitchen and sanitary compartment, silent water-pressure pump, hot water via 10-litre Truma heating system boiler, connection of Thetford flush toilet to fresh-water system; 80-litre waste-water tank, frost-proof installation of fresh- and waste-water tanks, drainage via frost-resistant 40-mm (1.6-in) ball valve.

For cooker and heater/boiler unit; 60-litre gas tank
