Hi Everybody.
First Id like to apologise Iam writing English on a Russain forum, but I forgot writing russian language. Even thougt Ican still speak russian langage which Ive learned in the college.

In 2013 Im going to organise an expedition from Gdansk(Poland) to Irkuck. Its been always my dream to discover russia, and now I have an oportunity to make my dreams true. The rote I would like to chose is the most popular route so Lithuania - Moscow - Yeaterinburg - Novosybirsk - Krasnoyarsk - Irkutsk. Id like to go in the somer time - By now I have some problems just at the begining of thinking about expedition

Is there somebody who could give me some advise for the folowing questions ?

1. Do I realy need 4x4 car ? If I realy need which would be the best choice of brand ? Patrol ? Cheeroke ? Pajero ? Maybe any russian 4x4 ?

2. If there is no reason to buy 4x4 Id like to take an particular VAN, if is possible please let me know which wolud be the best or most popular for the russian conditions ( VW t4? Mercedes Sprinter? Hyundai H200 ?)

The biggest problem for me as I think by now is that the car/VAN brake down, so my idea is to buy a car/VAN which could be easly repaired by russian mens ( Who i hope would help me )

Всем доброго время суток, изначально человек извиняется что пишет по-английски т.к русский он полностью забыл может кое что прочесть. В 2013 он хочет организовать экспедицию в Россию из Польши в Иркутск. У автора всегда была мечта попутешествовать по России и вот выпадает такая возможность маршрут следующий Литва - Москва-Екатеринбург-Красноярск -Иркутск. Время для экспедиции было выбрано Лето, но сейчас у него возникают вопросы по поводу самой экспедиции.
Есть тут кто то кто может ответить на некоторые вопросы
1 Действительно ли надо машину с полным приводом если надо то какую Patrol ? Cheeroke ? Pajero или какую русскую.
2 Действительно ли необходимо покупать полноприводник, автор темы предпочёл бы микроавтобус, если возможно подскажите какой.
Автор боится что в путишествии машина автобус сломается, он хочет знать какой автобус более ремонтопригоден в России.
Если у кого то есть советы пожалуйста напишите

If you plan to travel during summer and doesn't plan to visit wild nature or distant villages, any general 2WD van is definitely enough. The only thing, I agree with point that gasoline engine (compatible with regular -- 92/93 -- gas) would be preferred to reduce risks of lacking or meeting bad quality fuel (which could lead to quite costly repair and losing time).
Winter time or heavy mud is, of course, completely different matter... but there is nothing special to Russia, anyway.

The question to all Russian friends. What is better in Your opinnion
1. Buy Pajero or Patrol and sleep in a tent "somwhere on a meadow ", or
2. By a VAN 2wd ( which one would be the best for russian conditions?)and make it suitable for sleeping in the cabin


Once again please forgive me Iam writing english but its realy easier for me and this forum is the best place to collect information

It is up to you. My advice, stay at night somewhere beside truck drivers and refuel your car where they do.
